Who We Are
Developmental Educators (also known as a DE) are qualified disability professionals.
Developmental Educators are allied health professionals, and are recognised by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and listed within the pricing arrangement under
Capacity Building Supports.
We are represented by our professional body the DEAI
(Developmental Educators Australia Incorporated)
Our qualification represents the changing model of disability services,
as society moves away from a medical model, and towards an inclusive social model.
Our team uses practical approaches to support individuals, and their families, to strengthen their skills and increase their choice and quality of life.
We also strongly believe in the role of caregivers & community
to create a supportive and inclusive environment.

My Connected Community was established by Natalie in 2017.
It was founded with the aim of being able to offer unique disability services, with a genuine desire to connect people to their community and celebrate what makes everybody unique.
I was able to witness the powerful impact of focusing on strong and trusting relationships between client and practitioner. This allowed an empowering 'team' approach to recognising skills, strengths, and achieving goals.
I believe that disability should not be a barrier to inclusion,
and I am passionate about working together with education providers, employers,
and community groups to strengthen the diversity of our communities.

I have worked across the disability sector, including special education, child & youth services, and Disability SA. My focus is always on connecting individuals to their community, supporting caregivers to increase their knowledge and skills, and assisting individuals to allow their personal strengths and skills to flourish. I believe every person has something to contribute to their community. |
